Habitat Omaha’s “HabiBlog”

On Wednesday, August 12^th we will be having another meeting of the Habitat for Humanity YP group.   The meeting will be at 7PM at the Habitat office located at 2204 Ames Ave.  At the meeting we will be electing our:

Board:  Chairman, Co-Chairman, Advocating Committee Chair, Fundraising Committee Chair and Volunteering Committee Chair.

Executive Committee: President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary

The Officers will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Habitat YP group.   These individuals will be the driving force behind what we accomplish and how we operate as a group.  Their specific duties can be found in the attached documents.

The duties of boards of directors include:

• governing the organization by establishing broad policies and objectives
• selecting, appointing, supporting and reviewing the performance of the officers
• using their connections within the community to support Habitat for Humanity
• ensuring the availability of adequate financial resources

If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for one of the positions, please fill out the nomination form below and send it back to me at my email. Before the next meeting I will send out information on the people that are running for the various positions and why they are interested in a leadership role.  At the meeting each person running will be given a few minutes to introduce themselves and to inform the group on why they should be elected.

If you are not running for a position, please come to the meeting to vote for the group’s leadership and spend some time brainstorming ideas.  Your skills and talents are a valuable asset to this group.
